Larry R. Rogers, Jr. was elected Commissioner of the Cook County Board of Review -- the agency designated to review Cook County property tax assessment appeals -- in November 2004. Representing the Board of Review's 3rd District, Rogers brings a unique blend of experience and expertise to the three member board.

As an attorney at the law firm of Powers, Rogers and Smith, Commissioner Rogers has a long history of advocating for victims' rights, representing individuals and consumers who have suffered injuries or lost loved ones due to negligence by individuals, corporations and even government.

Commissioner Rogers is now focusing his time on serving the nearly two million residents of Cook County he represents. His commitment to ensuring that all Property owners in Cook County have access to the Board of Review to contest their property assessments remains his top priority. He and his staff are committed to making sure that property owners understand and have access to the assessment appeals process.

Rogers received his Bachelor of Science degree in Managerial Economics from the University of California-Davis and a Jurist Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Rogers has co-authored a number of articles and has given presentations on a wide range of subjects.

Commissioner Rogers resides on Chicago's south side with his wife and four children. Additionally, he remains active in a number of professional and civic organizations.
