It looks like the "Celeb" ad from John McCain's campaign has ruffled some feathers:
And it not the Obama campaign whose feathers are getting all ruffled. Not that it stopped him from mocking it:
"Given the seriousness of the issues, you'd think we could have a serious debate," Obama said. "But so far, all we've been hearing about is Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. I mean, I do have to ask my opponent, is that the best you can come up with? Is that really what this election is about? Is that what is worthy of the American people?"
The crowd yelled: "NOOOOOOOOOO."
Kudos to the Obama crowd for demonstrating their versatility in being able to switch between an adoring chant of "Yes we can" to a disparaging cry of "NOOOOOOO" right on a dime.
It did ruffle the feathers of Paris Hilton's mother, Kathy Hilton, who penned this tome on the Huffington Post:
I've been asked again and again for my response to the now infamous McCain celebrity ad. I actually have three responses. It is a complete waste of the money John McCain's contributors have donated to his campaign. It is a complete waste of the country's time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs. And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next President of the United States.
Yeah... of all the videos her daughter has appeared in over the last few years, THIS is the one that she's all up in arms about?
But, not to be out done by Barack or even her own mother, Paris Hilton herself has responded:
I've got to hand it to Paris here. Pretty creative. And, dare I say... "Hot".
And is anyone even at least slightly disturbed that Paris' energy policy makes more sense than either McCain's or Obama's? At least she's not proposing anything as dopey as inflating ones tires properly to solve our oil problem. It took an ACTUAL candidate for President to come up with that lunacy.
